Gray Blending Doesn't Have to Be All or Nothing

Something has been happening in my chair lately, and I want to talk about it.

More and more women are coming to me not sure what they want. They're curious about their gray. They're tired of fighting it. But they're not ready to commit to a full transformation, and honestly? That hesitation is completely reasonable. A major change is a major change, and "what if I hate it" is a real concern.

Here's what I've been telling them: you don't have to decide right now..

What softer gray blending actually looks like

Not every gray blending appointment is a dramatic before-and-after. A lot of the work I've been doing lately is gentler. We're softening the line between your color and your natural growth. We're letting your silver start to show up without it being a sudden shock. We're giving your hair room to evolve while still looking intentional at every stage.

For the right person, this approach works beautifully. The transition feels gradual. The in-between phases are manageable. And you get to see what your natural hair is actually doing before you fully commit to it.

But I want to be honest with you about the process

Whether we go gradual or more dramatic, gray blending is not a one-appointment service. I say this not to discourage you, but because I've seen what happens when it isn't said clearly enough.

Here's the real picture: the silver tones that most people are going for are the hardest to maintain. Silver is toner-dependent, and toners fade. Depending on your hair, there will likely be stretches where your hair is reading more blonde than silver, especially in the early stages of the transition. How your hair responds to color plays a big role in how that unfolds, and I'll walk you through what to expect as we get into the service together.

My goal is to coordinate your toner appointments with your cuts so that upkeep stays manageable. I also recommend specific home care products that extend the life of your tone between visits. The first several months tend to require the most attention, and I want you to go into that knowing it, not surprised by it.

Who I'm most excited to work with right now

If any of this sounds familiar, I want to hear from you:

You've been thinking about going gray for a while, but you're not sure you'll pull it off. You're not ready to go all in, but you're curious. You want someone to help you figure out what this could actually look like for you, not just execute a technique.

That is the conversation I light up in. Helping someone discover what their hair could look like, and realizing they don't have to choose between their color and their gray in one appointment, that's some of the most satisfying work I do.

Full transformations are still on the table

I want to be clear: I haven't stopped doing larger transformation work. For some people, the hair supports it beautifully, the timing is right, and we can move efficiently. If that sounds like you, I'd love to talk.

But I'm selective about it. I'd rather have a real conversation about what your hair can do and what it needs, than push a result faster than is realistic.

Ready to figure out what's possible?

If you're somewhere in that "maybe" space with your gray, I'd love to talk. Consultations fill up, so if you're curious, now is a good time to get on the list.
